Service verify
A landing page is a different object from a web page, and treating it as another page on the site is why most local campaign traffic converts badly.
A website serves people arriving with many different intentions, so it offers navigation, depth and choice. A landing page serves people who clicked one advert about one thing, so almost all of that becomes friction.
Message match, which is most of the value
The single biggest determinant of whether a landing page works is whether it says what the advert said.
Someone clicks an advert about a specific service in a specific town. If the page opens with a general company introduction, the visitor has to work out whether they are in the right place. A meaningful share do not bother, and you paid for every one of them.
Matching the message means the headline restates the promise, the first paragraph confirms the service and the area, and the action requested is the one the advert implied. It sounds obvious and it is skipped constantly.
What to remove
The design work here is mostly subtraction. Full navigation, because every link that is not the intended action is an exit. The general company story, because nobody who clicked an advert about a burst pipe wants a history. Multiple competing calls to action, because two requests are weaker than one. Long forms, since every additional field costs completions.
What remains: the matched headline, a short statement of what you do and where you do it, the phone number visible without scrolling, proof someone can check, an answer to the obvious objection, and a short form.
Speed, because you paid for the click
Every abandoned load on a landing page is money already spent and wasted.
Google’s loading threshold treats a largest contentful paint within 2.5 seconds as good, and paid traffic is less patient than organic traffic because the visitor has less investment in being there.
Landing pages are also the easiest pages to keep fast, since they carry the least. That advantage gets thrown away by heavy hero video, chat widgets and multiple tracking scripts loading before the content.
One page per offer, not one per keyword
There is a tempting bad idea here: generate a page for every keyword and town combination so every advert has a perfectly matched destination.
That produces the doorway pattern Google’s spam policies describe, and in practice it does not convert better than a small number of well-built pages. It also creates a maintenance problem nobody sustains.
Build one page per genuinely distinct offer. If you advertise three services, that is three pages.
Measurement has to exist before launch
A landing page is judged on conversion rate from advert click to call or form, compared with whatever you were using before.
That requires conversion tracking configured in advance, including call tracking for trades where the phone is the main route. Without it you will have opinions about the new page rather than evidence, and the platform will optimise toward clicks. Setting that up is analytics and conversion tracking work.
The pages themselves exist to serve paid search campaigns, so the two are usually built together.
SERVICE VERIFY
This service sits under the Website designer category and has not yet been confirmed against the live Google Business Profile service list. Confirm before treating it as verified.
Call 734-747-3922 or request a free audit, and bring the advert you are currently running alongside the page it points to.
This sits under Website designer services beyond Landing Page Design, where the rest of that category is set out.
